Cassien is one of Scotland’s most in-demand wedding and events bands, with whom I regularly play bass guitar and double bass, as well as contributing to our four-part vocal arrangements. I am also in charge of writing the arrangements for our additional horn section at bigger events.

Arbor Green is an alt-folk outfit led by singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ali Begg, with whom I play double bass and provide backing vocals. After one very cramped pre-lockdown pub gig, future performance plans had to be put on hold, so instead we recorded and filmed parts separately for two songs from the comfort of our respective homes.

Allowed Noise was a free-improvisation project I formed with fellow composer-performer and University of Glasgow alumnus Scott Crawford Morrison. We released an album of our music entitled Phonopoly and in April 2018, focusing on the eponymous piece Phonopoly, a flowchart-like score generated through a process of card dealing ,as well as compiling other solo and duo compositions and improvisations.

David Ell is an indie alternative singer-songwriter I’ve been working with over the past few years. I contributed bass, vocals and some arrangement to an album of new material, and we’re preparing to mark its release with launch shows throughout Scotland.
